is there any hissing noise at the RHS of ur dashboard?if yes ,then there's a leak on ur a/c system.

kelvin, do you mean after 5 seconds is there still any hissing sound? as in the hissing sound is continuous?

I notice when i full lock my steering wheel, at times i hear this 'kok kok' sound as i turn the wheel. Is there a problem?

hissing noise is continuous when the a/c is on,noise not there while compressor is cut off. for the kok kok noise ,need to test drive first.

Kelvin,

If my air con has the following symptoms, does it means that my cooling coil got problem?>?

1) is not as Cold as before @ 24 degree
2) there will be 5 -10s whereby the wind from a/c is not cold
3) a/c wind speed #1 is not strong, but speed 2 is strong (some time i feel that speed 2 is speed 1 leh.... my speed 1 really small-- is it normal ?)

just did my cooling coil replacement at kelvin workshop yesterday, promotion still on.

my 2nd time replacing cooling coil, the last time was 2.5 years ago at another workshop.

my FR is that this time, beside Kelvin and his assistance, there is another new mechanic(didn't ask for his name) who is very experience and knowledgeable. I feel totally comfortable with him too. He help to repair my water tray which was apparently cut by the previous workshop when changing the cooling coil( :crycry:).

and for those who wanna change aircon compressor, I would only say the price quoted by kelvin is cheaper than all prices I have seen quoted by other workshop in this forum till date.

Recently went to TC and they quoted me 1.3k for cooling coil and thermostat and compressor. When i told them my compressor was just changed no long ago, they told me my condenser is spoiling soon and will cause leakage in gas so changing the coil doesn't help. I was like WTF? Condenser causing leakage? I went to autobac @ toh guan and they were very honest. That was where i changed my condenser and they said it was still under warranty and was ok. If anything, it wouldn't be the condenser that leaks.

So now i need an experienced hand for a second opinion and to check if my condenser will really cause leakage like TC said? I smsed kelvin for a quote for changing coiling and thermostat and will see how it goes.

Thanks for this thread.

Just an update on my post above. I went down to Kelvin's workshop and he confirmed that my condenser is fine (so much for TC lying their way to get more business; they told me my condenser is spoiling and changing just the coil won't work). So I went ahead to change just my cooling coil as my thermostat is still working fine. Damage was $400 including labor and a short drive to the ATM (thanks Kelvin). Workmanship was great and their service was super fast (it was ready in just under an hour). You can't get it anywhere cheaper if you want the original parts. Hats off to Kelvin and I'll be sure to revisit you if any need arises.

This is confirmed, plus guarantee chop the best deal you can get
