Power Loss when moving off - CVT gear box
kenniboye:
I've got this problem for the past 6 months. When I stop at the traffic lights for long time(especially in malaysia), once the lights turn green, I feel that the car is moving off using 2nd gear. After which the car will feel sluggish. Another experience was when I was revving the car trying to beat the traffic lights but failed to do so(1.5L not power haha) so had to do hard braking to stop the car. When the lights turned green, I tried to move off, sluggish again. Is it the gear box problem or it's the engine? My car milleage is 65k and is 3 and half years old. I've complain to Tan Chong before when there was still warranty but they say they will retune the engine. Afterwhich the car felt more responsive but I occasionally still get this sluggish move off. Any one experiencing this? Kindly advise. Thanks. Car prices are high now. Dun wish to change car.

Bro,
It like that la.
Mine also the same, bear with it since now car price very high.
Service the gear box on regularly.
To prevent faulty.
Since ur's is more than 60k, have you replace the CVT gear box oil?

Yup mine also same. Try climbing up taka carpark after kena stuck in orchard rd. Got to use
L gear.

Send to TC for checkup? My 2.5 yr old does not have this problem even after stuck in jam for 1hr+ in custom.

Complain alot of times liao. Then they say use Consult to diagnose engine butno fault found. Wat to do? Just pray tat gearbox no problem. Change CVT gearbox is abt $17k as wat TC mentioned unless damn Japan extend S'pore nissan CVT warranty to 10yrs just like in US.
My car now 4.5yrs old & TC say need to do top overhaul (refer to my other thread on top overhaul)
