Latio Aircon problem ... need advice ..

(1/5) > >>

GKF:
Hi all,

My latio 4AT is 3 years 3 months old. Now the aircon seems to go haywire every now and then and need your advice on how I should go to fix it. Here is the details:

4-5 months back, i discover a sound, ta ta ta sound when my car is in D gear, aircon on. But in neutral gear its ok. I try to ignore it but it seems to get worse. When it got worse, the warranty is over ... so I just keep monitoring.
Just 4 weeks ago, my aircon starts to go haywire. It became very cold even if I set to 29-30 degrees and after driving for 15 mins, the power of the wind decreases by a lot , like something stuck.
I need to increase the power of the wind to max for 5 mins before it became normal again. Its like its stuck and then the things that is stuck seems to clear with strong wind.
I monitor for 2 more weeks, this happen quite frequently till I found that i need to set the wind power to level 2 in order for it not to be stuck and the temp to be set at 29-30, actual temp of the wind should be 24-25.
The temp solution when block is to set temp to max (32) and wind power to level 2. This cause the aircon to blow out warm air , then the stuck issue will solve in few mins.
I somehow conclude that the air con is stuck with ice that are form when the aircon is too cold.

Another problem is the mode now changes itself, at first its blowing from the normal air holes, after a while, it change to normal top air holes with the leg air holes. It auto changes !!

So next problem I conclude is the electronics of the aircon is having some problem.

The 2 problems when added together tells me that the very cold air which causes the stuck (icing) is normal as it is blowing very cold air.
The main issue is because the aircon electronics is having problem which cannot control the temp as it should be.

I am not sure if I am right about the above conclusion.

I need help from you experts on advising me on what is happening and how to solve it? What workshops do you recommend as my warranty just ended 3 months ago and how much will it cost to fix.

Many thanks!

Regards,
GKF

My advice to you is quickly bring it back to Tan Chong. Try to appeal if there is substantial amount of repair cost needed.

Damm... another case of aircon complaint. Next car dun dare to buy Nissan liao...

GKF:
Hi ,

Is this a common problem in Latio? Wats the avg cost to fix this aircon problem.

I actually had the air con compressor changed last oct.
The clicking sound came after a month.
Not sure if it's related....

Thanks!

Sounds like electronic problem to me too.. I was told by the SA from tCM, that the temp setting is controlling the hot air and cold air intake. The lower your set, the more electronic control the valve to allow more cold air into the mixute. It seems that controlling  system for cold/hot air is screwed.

GKF:
Yup I think so too. I had aircon problem after recent servicing .
The temp no matter how I set is always blowing hot air.
This happen even before I step out of tan chong compound.

I quicky go to receptionist n they call the engineer up. He checked then press some buttons on the aircon dials. It's like resetting then it's back to normal.

Dunno if it's the similar problem.

Btw Nissan aircon always lots of problems ??

Thanks
gKF
