Bro.. can describe the noise?? I'm hearing a 'woooo woooo' sound when i start the car in the am... monday going for 60K.. going to flag this sound out..

dsrio:
the noise is like your air-con gas not enough, more like shhhhhh. the noise will be there only if you on the air-con no matter if its morning, afternoon or night. The mechanic can check and tell you whether there is enough air-con gas, if its cooling coil spoilt, even if you top up the gas, it will run out very fast.

but if its air-con compressor going to up lorry, the noise will sounds like fan belt need tightening, even if you dun On the air-con also will get the noise.

Paid $380 for original coil + aircon filter + top up gas & compressor oil

Gd price & best of all job complete in 2-3 hrs, no dismantling of dashboard.

Thanks, I just replaced the coil at this shop. Good service
Just that I forgot to ask them not to make my "leg brake" so hard.

true enough, can see the dirty stuff around the leaking area of the old coil. A check on the refrigerant gas canister stated there is danger of deplete oxigen level if the gas leak in enclosed area. So if you always feel sleepy when you drive your car but not other car, you should check your car aircond.

take about 2~3 hours on weekday, expect longer que on monday and saturday.

wow lau...it seems like most Yr 2005 batch which are still on the road need to replace cooling coil.....

my Yr 05 latio sport just changed compressor last Aug...... :(

Ying:
I asked the aircond expert what is teh lifespan for our coil and compressor, he said  both are wear and tear item that can last about 4~5 years. Top up the compressor oil once a year may help to prolong the compressor for another year or two.

Honda's coil and compressor can last longer compare to latio's.
