Typical speed & RPM on NS Highway?

Hi all, like to check what is the typical speed & RPM recommended for the drive up Malaysia (highway)?

Just went on my 1st trip up north after 4yrs with the car. Car loaded: 5 adults + luggage enough for 2 days trip. I had to maintain ard 4000 RPM @ 140km/hr to keep up with my relative's car (Mazda 3) and at time have to increase to 5000 when going uphill.

Anyone know if there is any issue and what is the recommended range I should be at?

For those who are interested I was on Bridgestone Potenza (3wks ago), car was still rather stable (probably due to number of pple in the car), max speed I managed was ard 150+km/hr.

went to malacca a few times. with 4 adults and no luggage rpm hovering ard 3-3.5 k at 140 and hitting 4.5k at 170.

I feel our latio ramp above 3K, the engine is very noisy. As if it's under alot of stress..  DRive NSHW, usually above 3K to maintain 120-130km/j and sometimes I get worried..

Speedster's seems reasonable. Personally feel car was ok, but ya, rather noisy and seems to lack power whenever there is a gradual uphill slope.

my average speed on nsh is 140-160. not denying the fact that the engine noise is high and soundproofing doesnt seem so good at high speed. on some occasion will hit a max of 175km/h and couldnt go any higher. till date have not experience and overheating like some bros have have encounter. i realise that travelling on nsh consume more fuel than my normal daily driving. is it normal?

Only went to melaka. 3k rpm and 120-130km/h. with 1 passenger. Felt not stable above 130. Must be cautious when doing lane change and overtaking. FC also like normal day to day usage. For NSH, a larger CC car will be better. Latio will be stressed. Engine needs to work harder to overtake and up slope.

Legal speed limit still stay 110km/h on NSHW.

I usually hover around 140 to 170 km/hr of coz back to legal speed limit when the cars in front slow down. Car feel stable with 17" wheel, strut bars and coilover.

my car's fuel consumption was pretty bad roo, used half a tank while my uncle's Mazda 3 only used 1/4, and ya, he can hit 140~150km/hr easily, while I really have to step down to chase after him. However, I noticed that it managed to handle 110~120km/hr with only 3000rpm. Will be going up again in 2wks time and will be taking my time this time round, don't want to stress my car too much

Yeah dats wat ppl claim as “clear carbon” infact if u were 2 maintain at 140-160km/h for half hr drive at nsh, u will notice dat when u come back drivin in sgp, ur mileage seems to improve...

Well, usually is around 80 to 90 km/h for better FC due to aerodynamic of our Latio.

What engine oil and viscosity you using ?

Yeah dats wat ppl claim as “clear carbon” infact if u were 2 maintain at 140-160km/h for half hr drive at nsh, u will notice dat when u come back drivin in sgp, ur mileage seems to improve...

I dunno is it just me, after came back from MY after pumped Shell Vpower, my FC will drop. Only back to my normal FC after I pumped back SG petrol. Funny ya.

What fuel grade u usually pump in SG? Fuel in MY is 97, thus the higher grade it is, the more efficient the burning will be (if you usually use 95) thus the "lower" the FC...

Previously pumped 95 but switched to 92 due to price hike.

I have a different experience leh, engine noise is slightly less when you pump v power. My FC is actually better when I travelling around 140km/hr in the NS highway. I even travelled at 140km/h during heavy downpour when you need to on the headlights. Think my hankook tyres wet grip and the rainX helps in this case. I only experienced floating when I reach around 150km/h.

After travelling to NS highway, I find that my car can ramp easier back home

I LIKE TO MAINTAIN 1300 TO 140KM/HR WITH rpm around 2.6 to 2.8 formy latio sport premium CVT.  Found that FC is v v high compared to normal drive in singapore and engine v v lousy for rpm above 3000. I try to inrease tire pressure to 230psi and felt FC became better signicantly but have to sacrafice the drive conform

Not sure Service from Tc SERVICE CENTRE.

i STRONGLY FELT THAT i NEED TO ADJUST GEAR RATIO

For toyota altis 3000rpm reached 115km/hr the car is responsive and as well as fuel economic
