Caution on air filter
« on: July 22, 2011, 10:08:46 AM »
Just a note of caution for bros who are using Hurricane stainless steel air filter. It'll be good to check it once in a while, to see whether it has warped. I went to change my battery and install my UTR Power Charger that was on my previous ride. Johnny from Terminal 2 helped me checked my air filter and to my shock, it has warped and there's even tears on the filter...no wonder my ride been feeling sluggish...If left unchecked for prolonged period, I think I might have to change my engine  :crying: :crying:

You can see how badly warped the filter is

The tear on the filter  :crying:

So did u replaced to johnny's UTR air filter?
If u did well done, although price is alittle on the high side it has done a much better job in terms of dirt filtration as compared to the previos knn dat needs oiling so troublesum & messy (over oiling clogs ups trottlebody) in return affects ur overall car performance

Yes. No choice coz my air filter already warped and torn till like that. But can feel my car's pick up much smoother after the new air filter. Plus the installation of UTR, can feel the pick up and power that I haven't felt for a long time...so touched I almost want to cry  :crycry: ;D ;D ;D

Hi KT, hope you enjoy driving your car with my products so far. Glad that your nightmare was over with your damaged air filter changed. In fact, there are quite a few air filters from this brand from my customers who are driving Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Nissan which are similar to what KT had but KT had one of the worst I have had seen. I guess sometimes, it was bad luck to get it although "H" brand has been producing quality products for a while. Anyway, it will be good to check it out once in a while if you are using one.

For those who are keen to see which UTR Power Charger that KT has installed in his Latio Sport, you can go to this link to check it out: http://forum.thelatioclub.org/index.php/topic,9894.220.html

Have a great weekend!

Best regards,
Johnny

A little off topic here, but like to ask that - is it true that stainless steel filters allow more dust into engine than paper filters ?

thanks

Also to stainless steel air filter, but diff brand. I got it from Johnny from Terminal 2. My UTR is the 3000 series, which was on my previous ride. now thinking of upgrading it to 5000 or 6000 series :devil2:, but gota save the dough for it though
