To those who have high FC
« on: July 21, 2011, 11:04:37 AM »
This is weird, but it is so true, Pls clean your E-throttle or change your old throttle. Reset your ECU. After 2-3 rounds of fuel refill. The FC will improve tremendously. Personnel experience to share. Look like I will hit 600km or more with a full tank but no ball to try.

Omg what was your previous FC? Mine has always been in the range from 11 to 11.5km/ltr from day one.

Usually, the fuel light will light up at about 460-480km. I also assume I have 5 liters as reserve. So the most, I will pump at most 530 KM. anyway, sometime i pump in Malaysia till it over flow or very very full. Maybe it contributes more mileage for the additional of 1-2 liters.

My ride is already 5 year old ride. I've been searching a replacement for the past 9 month and cannot find something similar. Spacious cabin, Nice seat, easy maintains. I think I will keep till it beyond economical repair... The sound proof is getting weakening.. but I dun think it can be an excuse to give up my latio. LOL

I think generally the low fuel indicator normally lights up after 35 liters. I know cos my ride has always been very consistent until of late. Always around 380km it will light up then I will go on for about 20km before heading for the petrol station. Average I will pump about 38 liters before the tank goes full.

I dun clean, I replace the whole with a modify throttle body. think they grind away the step in the body to let more air-in take. damage $200++.

380KM to fuel light up is pretty bad. unless in that period I race a lot. Many says that Latio is a slow car. but, It is all on your right foot. you step hard, it runs.

Never try cleaning throttle body. But tried reset ECU. The FC will be better for the next 2 tanks, then revert back to before. So the good FC doesn't last.

Update us again 1 month later...

I cleaned TB at around 90k mileage, din really feel any improvement in FC or pickup or watsoever, maybe my TB wasn't dirty enough..

Did at autoaid, tink it was around $30 or so..

For latio, juz make sure do regular servicing n change wear n tear parts on time can liao, no need change special air filter,  do this do that. Waste time waste money... Unless u really need to spend some money to feel better then go ahead

I saw the fuel filter before, It is a bag that attached on the probe bar (PUMP).  I ask autoaid can we change the bag. They say that it is a fuel filter, no need to change one…to be frank, I also afraid to change. Scare it will affect the fuel gauge reading.
In fact, in my car younger days, I install thing like volt stabilization or similar, none of them really work but will just interrupt the ECU. Eg, you step harder; those ******** devices will hold back the movement because they want to save petrol for you? #@!^@$$%#
Only thing I have is SIMOTA air filter, other den the engine nose is loud, otherwise, I think it is good as I dun have to buy and buy filter for every service. Just spray clean the drop-in filter.
I change to a 15” rim for cheaper tyre and save a bit of fuel. Maybe.

That my regular mileage since day one....of course if throw in the occasional time when maybe 50% on highway traveling then i can stretch to 420km max before the low fuel indicator lights up...anyway already done servicing and told SA about low fuel..they reset my ECU and couple with change in petrol to Esso 95. Seems FC slight improvement but can only really tell after a few rounds. Previously also after servicing my FC seems to improve but after a few rounds it was back to square one.
