if you went to the workshop i went, $35 for what u described. But no free drink..

So oil filter plus labour. How long it takes ? Mine sent in around 1130 hrs, collect at 1620hrs, minus off 1 hour for their lunch time, it took them 4 hours to service my car.  :crying:

transmission oil can use the transmission oil dipstick pull out
and drip on white paper as adviced on service manual,
if still clear red in color no need to change.. if black got
residues den need to change.

pull out dipstick while idling engine

Got two dipstick ... If I not wrong, yellow puller is engine oil, the other one at right hand with black puller is gearbox oil (AT or CVT)

That time i went to TCM and did my 40K major servicing... Told the guy said i wanted to change my CVT oil but he said the oil change at 100K... Is it true? I find it too far and 100K is like another 2-3 years for me to reach the mileage.

Now i have slightly less than a year(exp. Nov 2012) more for warranty. But i feel like going to other workshops to service my car cause TCM is damn expensive. Plus if i go do outside, will it void my warranty? :crycry:

It is true that TCM change the CVT oil change interval from 60K to 100K km. But u can do the CVT oil change outside at your own preferred interval on top of the servicing at TCM. I did it at 40K interval cos i wanna take good care of the expensive CVT. Actually felt the transmission smoother immediately after the change. For a gauge, the price to change CVT oil outside should be around $120. But it is very important to use the correct CVT oil specifically for latio.

Thanks Enzoni... I gues i'll just do it as soon as possible. I saw autosaver recommended by other forumers. Do they have the CVT oil in stock or do i have to get it myself?

I did it at autoaid, somehow i feel more comfortable there. They got ready stock.

Autosaver very 'franchised', if you call different outlets to enquire you may get different price quote for certain items. I ever did one servicing with them (defu lane main branch) and it was done by PRC... I got A1 in 'O' lvl chinese but somehow i still got problem communicating with them, kept giving my blank look when i asked them things...

Just my experience.

Getting A1 in Chinese does not means ablility to communicate well. Most Singaporean have this mentality till they stay in different parts of China full time, them they will understand why most Chinese will stare at them blankly.

I wasn't talking about the language thing, i have not problem describing what i mean in chinese. It is the car knowledge thing i am referring to. General car stuffs that i expect a local mechanic to know. I was in a way testing them and they failed badly, lost my confidence in letting them handle my car immediately. Maybe they were new, i was not sure. That was few years back, no idea how is the situation there now though.

chill guys... PRC have different dialects in their language. The way they articulate the Mandarin language is also different depending which part of china the ycome from. My colleagues are MOSTLY PRCs. I asked them about this matter and this is how i understand it.

Anyway, i'll take a look at autoaid but still i dunno if i need to purchase my own Nissan cvt oil. Please advise.

P.S On the 1st instance if the service is bad, most probably i won't come the 2nd time.
