Can come over and let me have a look at it. :devil2:it could be other things that caused that noise.

When i acclerate fom stop, i can hear loud squeking sound. The sound will go away after a few seconds and can only be heard when i roll down the driver window.
Is this problem got to do with Fan Belt and Pulley? My latio is coming to six years old.
Anyone facing this problem?

skullcap:
I used to have short squeking sound when I start and when I accelerate off. It seems my fan belt is the culprit. It has dried and has cracked lines. Changed that and all ok now.

IvanL:
Same here. Had a "chi chi chi" sound when starting the car... changed the belt... no more sound already.

Bro, I do have that problem previously, changed a new one previously and they gave me an oem. Well, I didn't know then. So every morning, when I start my car, there's squeaky noise. When I move out of the parking lot, seems like my car is a big whistling bird. For 6 mths, I was frustrated by the diagnosis from the different workshops. From faulty alternator to I didn't step hard on the accelerator to belt tensioner, till finally one mechanic says your belt is most likely not original. Change it and it will go away. And $80 does it.
