When and what tyre to change to?

With a hot climate in SG, tires "age" fast even without usage.  the rubber compound will harden and reduce the effectiveness of the tyre's function.  as wat Carmodz had mentioned, 2 years is a good time frame to change tires.  If your car is parked under the hot sun or if u drive in the afternoon everyday, you should consider changing tires before 2 years or 40k mileage.

Most important is to take note of the grip and braking distance when driving.  if you find these 2 things deteriorating, it's time to change tires even if it is less than 2 years or thread looks ok.

hope this helps.

But if the braking distance is affected by your brakes ?

goodrealm:
Go for Goodyear F1 tyres. Much better handling in wet and dry conditions but can a bit noisy on the road.
