Eh brother,

Pickup is slow lah .Just go slow, even if my car extremely powerful pickup I also will be going slow pickup speed cos the petrol doesn't justify it haha. And from the problems you stated, I must say some of the cars do have faults. maybe 1 in a hundred or 1 in a thousand. Really depends on luck sometimes. I heard lots of shitty stuffs about TC but personal experience their service attitude is average ba not so shitty when I service. They did wash my car though @@. You should ask the service adviser why not clean and F**k him in his face Cheers.!!!

Maybe you want to zhng your exhaust so that you know that it is accelerating? hehe i bought latio becos of the quietness though.  :bleh: :bleh: :bleh:

I heard bang table bang chair throw chair at service counter also no use leh. Maybe you should go show room and bang when there's a lot of customers  :yehyeh: :yehyeh:

Ya bro..I agree with you. The pros of this latio sports in indisputable. I got 17inch fitted. zhng my car plate abit to metallic....and i have received many favourable comments about how much my car is a LOOKER from both man and woman.

My wife drove it...her male colleagues also goes up to her and comment on our car looking great with her in the driver seat etc.

But its like...HO KUA BO HO JIAT (Good to see...no good to eat)

The feeling sucks man when u pay Good $$ for top range model of latio and end up got so many problem associated with top range stuff... I will happily trade positive comments on my car with a car that has less problem.

Vroomvroom, which car do you previously own? My previous ride is vios, hence tends to compare with my current latio. I have to say, my complaints are only :

1. Poor pick up, probably due to its weight, vios only about 900+ kg. That's why I can't tahan the cvt transmission, and took the normal 4AT. Proven as I test drove both.

2. Bumpy suspension. The vios is much, much better. Hopefully changing of my next tyres can improve it.

Other than these, all others, comfy, size, space, finishings, HD, noise level, etc are better than vios. It is a family car, no matter how much you zheng the car.  ;D

One thing I realize that the paint for Latio quite easy to come off. I use wet tissue to clean of bird s*** that landed on my car within 2 hours and hair line scratches appeared. What the hell ....And the touch up paint that they give us, I am telling everyone don't bother to go use it. The colour is totally different. I check with the service adviser and he told me, the paint has been here for dunno how long 1-2-3-4 years already, of cos the colour will change. Then what is the point of giving it to us T_T

talking abt the paint & bird S, hate it , 2wk ago i kena once at in law's hse, the Bird S was damn powerful, like eating deep into the paint. i use polish liquid to clean it , took few min still can feel the 'rough' (chor chor) on the paint!!! sick of it!

actually, i aso dun bother to touch up if the paint drop abit, just let it be already, used to it can already. no eyes to see.
sorry, i must agree because i don't know how to disagree. agreeeee only....

I bought it cos i feel and think it will be a good car. After 16km, I have only 3 words to say. CANNOT MAKE IT

hi vroom,

why said that leh?

my comment for Latio is, CAN MAKE IT LEH.

But, only pick up cannot make it! Waste our FC! Need to accelerate very hard to move it move faster if we want it to run faster... Will feel like si bei seng kor (painful to move)....

But, after it runs smoothly, it can run very fast and smooth esply in NSHW.
2000k rpm can hit 100km/h
3000k rpm can hit 140km/h to 150km/h on the (flat) road. if got slope, will slow down the speed, need to accelerate more if want it to run faster, then the rpm can easily hit 4000k rpm.

overall rating for Latio, is good.

because i compare with my 1998's Wira and 2006's CVT Latio :)
sorry, i must agree because i don't know how to disagree. agreeeee only....

Brother If you are flying at 130-150 you will feel more safer in a Latio than Vios  :yehyeh: :yehyeh:

Anyway to improve bumpy suspension?

Yes that's for sure. Latio body about 100kg heavier mah.

You also feel the bumpiness? Change the suspension, but for me maybe 3 years later. As for now, according for some bros, can change to GR80 or V3 tyres. Can someone verify ?

Changing tyre is the only way? Any other ways to improve suspension by mod?

you can probably lower them, but lowering is actually not good for the car. the correct way is to actually buy a spring that's shorter. get good tyres ba. that might help quite a bit.

I drove a kelisa previously.

I am aware of all the pros of latio. it is a decent car no doubt.

My main grouses is, I feel very much kenna ripped off cos I paid for the best (top range latio model)....and the way it is going after just less than 1 yr with all the car defects. I cant help but to feel ******** with my decision.

Just imagine....the latio car defects is like more than the car defect problems which i encoutered in my kelisa.

I should have just opt for the basic 4AT version and save that 5-7k at least.

Hence I hope you guys can understand why i reacted that way to threadstarter topic.

Latio Sports a good car? NO way in my opinion.

If want a Latio, just go for the basic. Paying more doesnt mean better....It usually makes you more pissed off cos your expectation is adjusted higher.

You should have test both the cvt and 4AT before making your decision. Take me for example, I like the appearance of the sports version, but didn't come with the 4AT at that time. Since I can't tahan the slow pickup, also me not the cheong type, decided to take the basic 4AT. You only have to blame for yourself for your own selection.  ;)

But come to think of it, even the luxury car also got people complaining. They even cough out more but at the end curse and swear eg the FC.

Just enjoy what you have for the car, sure you are able to pick up something better than the kelisa. Then change it after 3 years.

I guess we understand from a point where you are paying for the best (top range) model of Latio.
For that kind of monie you are paying, I might as well get a Honda Airwave.

But dont mind me, for the few K difference, you are getting
1) Sun roof
2) CVT engine
3) other accessories like motorise side mirror, arm rest etc etc
4) A couple K more on OMV

To me, all these are not impt and does not add "power" to my drive which I came to know before I purchase the car, hence I chose the 4AT model. I used whatever saved to Zhng my car (blink blink) :p.

I have driven a Turbo veh before so I know the feeling of "underpowered" car but all these were already in my Lation CONS list. But I felt there are a lot of Pros abt this car (was looking at Airwave/Stream) which outweighs (in my opinon) the CONs and I think it's a value for monie car.

Talking abt the service centre (I went to TPY 3 times), I thot they did a good job for me. At least, it's fast (2hrs max) and efficient(assuming they did watever they shd do). I waited at least half a day (normal servicing) for my previous ride.

Just realize that you upgraded the tyres to 17 inches. No wonder it is doubly slow pick up for the cvt sports.

frankly speaking.
imo, a cvt is more worthwhile. i paid S$2k+ to get a cvt. gd deal.
i got the armrest, spoiler, etc.etc.
cvt, is powerful. once u drive smoothly in the Highway, it can fly very sui sui.... worth it dear!!!
CVT boleh!

Maybe bro, maybe.

I have a budget to keep within and it's abt 4k more for CVT (Sports ver)... so it's either Sports 4AT or Sedan CVT .... I chose looks  :bleh:

why choose 4at if cvt is ard this price range leh? cvt give u more things and cvt's power leh for cheong...

if u looking for comfort driving and normal city driving style, its a good car. if u need power and beng factor, then forget it.
Latio design and target to family...low profile ride..or slow car :devil2:

i think latio is more like a Enjoy while Driving Car. haha

Comforty seats, less bumpy ride with good air con + gf/bf/family members  sitting beside = Priceless
