This CVT car is slow on pick up, no doubt abt it...15,16,17,18 inch..whatever...i drove a kelisa (very light)...i know how fast a car can be off a block.

In anycase, really too way off topic....pick up is NOT an ISSUE.
At least It doesnt borthers me that much. (To me its something good to have..but dont have also nevermind). HAHA.

Im off..u guys enjoy discussing on the pick up...

However there this is something im not clear though.....does the size of the rim affect the pick up speed?I thought its the weight of the rims that matter most?

eg say 15inch 15kg
          17inch 13kg

          which one pick up faster?

hi vroomvroom

no doubt the kelisa's speed lah, but i am worrying abt its weight. too light until can fly down the cliff in NSHW.

i saw alot of MyVi run very fast in NSHW, when i was driving 120km/h. they can overtake. scary!

It does matter. There are also other factors like the pattern, type of rubber, area of contact, so not just weight.

I upgraded my rims for my previous ride from 14 to 16. In terms of weight is about the same. You can feel that you need to step on more fuel to start off the car from stationary for the 16" rims, and for my 14" rim, the car can be started from D without stepping the accelerator.

The reason is because bigger tyres have more contact surface. 16" tyres (205mm) compared with 14" (185mm). Thus need more power to overcome the traction on the road.

Though loss out in the FC, but I enjoyed the stability and look of the 16" rims (lower profile).

Aiya, for AT also can have tire leg lah. At the traffic light junction while waiting for green light, MT car can put to neutral gear, and relax both legs. But AT car need to press the brake all the time. Not advise to shift to neutral gear as they are more prompt to wear and tear of the gear box.

Anyway still enjoy the convienience of AT. I got a colleague who broke his left arm, but still can drive to work. And see one uncle with a limping leg, also can drive the AT.

iagree.
good point. make sense.
so in other word, 15" is just average.
but if we want more stable for our ride, 16" is surely a better choice then.
