You can also consider the following cars which are relatively new models and are 100% made in Japan and are cheaper than Latio

Daihatsu Materia 1.5

Dun buy subaru impreza....drove the europe version one when i was oversea working for a few months....horrible car...small interior with a heavy body....lack of power and steering wheel over-powered...when i was driving at 90-100kph, the steering feels so loose tat with a flick of ur hand...u can send it spinning like a super fast merry-go-round.....plus it is not even as fuel efficient as Mazda 3.....

In terms of the 3 choices, each has its strengths and weaknesses.

The Impreza scores in terms of high speed and cornering stability, and has a WOW factor in the additive growl of its boxer engine but sacrifices with a cramped rear interior and high fuel consumption due to its All Wheel Drive (AWD). Its aging interior may be a turn off for some.

The SX4 Sedan's fully automatic air-conditioning system keeps you the cool without any effort. The premium factory audio system is zen-like stylish and keeps you entertained with superb audio quality. The centre display and instrument cluster are stylish and the three spoke leather clad steering wheel comes with audio control and an SRS airbag. The centre console does not have a plastic feel of the Materia and Impreza. Inerior head room is akin to that of a SUV, with one of largest boot in its class.

The Materia's look may not suit everyone's taste, but its Toyota engine gives it a thumbs up - Toyota engine without a premium. Its 60/40 seats configuration means you

hi everyone

Thank for all he input. Still can't decide which car (Latio, Atlis and City)to buy now with the new honda city in the picture. But Latio seems to be the best value for money and Jap made.

Cheers

Thought you should also consider Lancer Ex.
Heard its interior is also spacious and its exterior
is

Latio, my first, my love~~~

U do car review for magazines is it?? Haha...u write like a pro...but for the subaru impreza, i beg to differ abt the stability at highspeed....the over-powered steering wheel makes it diffcult to control the angle to enter a corner......u end up whirling a little to left and right at entry, while negotiating and exit a bend or corner....

Copied like a pro you mean. Anyway, TS is good at corners due to boxer engine which minimise the G force, second to it should be Mazda3, therefore I disagree about your comment about the TS.
