Hi guys,
first time driving the auto car, would like to check with you guys how the sports mode / od works? is it detrimental to the gear if i were to switch around the modes when my rpm is relatively high as i floor the accelerator?

Your Latio Sports model has an identical engine and gearbox as the cheaper sedan model.
Only difference is the body kit and accessories.
Sports mode means OD Off (Overdrive Off), so your car is using only 3 gears instead of 4 when OD is turned on.
The OD switch is at the side of your gear lever.
To avoid unnecessary or premature wear and tear to your gearbox, when overtaking, just depress your accelerator all the eway to the end and your gearbox will auto kickdown.
You will also see your rpm going up.
It is not necessary to switch gears.

Yes.
So with OD off (orange light on dash is on), the highest gear your car will cruise on is 3rd gear.
If OD is on (Orange light off), the highest gear your car will cruise on is 4th gear, which is olso known as the overdrive gear.

Oh, sports mode is different from OD off button? I thought they were different. Sports more for CVT, OD off for 4AT.

I'm not sure about CVT but there's OD in 4 speed auto versions.

should be different coz CVT dont have 3rd or 4th gear mah. I seldom use the sport mode, very noisy.
