Rm250 Thai GR80 vs S$110 Japan GR80. Why go KL to change it? My relative from Malaysia even change their tyre in Singapore when they came for visit, better quality at almost the same price.

Hi Ying,

Good idea.
I changed all 4 at SG's HTyre (htyre.com)
Hope they are honest as I do not know what to check before I change it.
I don't even know there is a year made for the tyres to check aso :)
I just change, pay & go.
S$110 x 4
+ 7% GST
S$470.80 for 4 brand new GR80 tyres @ Htyre.

Regards.
sorry, i must agree because i don't know how to disagree. agreeeee only....

No more, should be replaced by ER10 IIRC.

Hi Jazz,

Does it mean ER10 IIRC is better than GR80? It replaces GR80 hor?
Price the same?

Hi iagree, are u just go to JB via 2nd link to top up petrol? Or u r meeting someone "special there"..not advisable to use 2nd link during night hour (have reported so many cases of robberies, but so far only involved motocyclists)..By the way, to answer u on the 205/65/R15 question, sb something like the width/height/inch (Any expert there, do correct me if i'm wrong)...

**mine, @ 47,000 km now and the tyre still OK lei (stock tyre, > 3 yrs now). My cousin at Jasin (near Melacca), the tyre shop owner, advise me to change 2 tyres 1st b4 next yr chinese new year and most probably another 2 still can last for 1/2 yr longer thereafter.. :yehyeh: :yehyeh: :yehyeh:

Hi LatioR

Me 1yr only, now 30,000km :(
How to compare then? So? I think is good for my latest move i.e. to change all the 4 tyres. I like things to be 'BALANCE' mah. You agree? Balance is better right? Nice to "maintain" right?

Thanks for sharing the 205/60/R15 info. Will remember by heart.

"Someone special there"? I am sorry, this is a secret. But I can share with you here, the answer is YES.

Melaka? You go muar?

Last night, I pumped 1/4 tank to FULL tank, i calculate the FC, it was abt 10km/L ? First time in my life man........ WHY? HOW?

May be due to my overdue 28200km servicing? I wait for 30000 then service? Must check my EO level now?

I scare kena saman later if the light is OFF? Any problem if TP sees it?

Hi! If you are worried and you happen to pass by any workshops or petrol stations with workshops, just pop in and get them to change it. Very cheap. i changed b4 and it only cost me a few dollars... i think it was $5?

iagree,
go for your servicing lah, dun need to wait till 29999.99km then drive in the workshop. It is just an estimation. If you have frequent short stop and go + lots of idling (and other so called severe driving condition) you can do servicing anytime between 6k-10k interval. when you service your car, you can reset one of your trip meter to zero and that meter will tell you when is your next servicing due.

Yah, after I change to GR80 my FC also drop. I think it is due to better grip so I feel much safer. That time also right before my servicing, FC improve after EO change. The light bulb is included in your servicing, workshop should change them for you without extra cost.

LatioR,
Do you go Jasin often? Your cousin own which tire shop?

Same same, will keep my eye open for a S plate Red premium when I am in Tangkak or Jasin next time.

That place ahh... next time can go there to take a look but there are many big tire shop in tangkak. I usually exit Tangkak, take kampong road to Jasin. Hope to catch up with you soon.

Ya, that is what I thought so, is cheaper to get it in SG as compare to Malaysia cox the import tax in Malaysia is quite high. Anyone can confirm this?

sorry.. am not 任盈盈.

yes you buy more EO for the 10k duration of drive if you change EO early. Look at it like shower, your mom tell you to take shower once a day in the morning. but if you damn smelly (EO dirty) in the evening, will you pay more water bill to make you cleaner? Same logic, ~40% cost of EO vs cleaner and smoother engin, which one you perfer? no right or wrong.

Mine under TCM service, change mu light bulb during previous service. Next servicing is another 3k to go but I am looking around for simple EO change now.

FC ah.. new tyre is like that, let it "warm up" first then monitor FC again. When people tell you his can can hit 16km/l, it is for his route and driving pattern, pass your car to him and the FC will not differ too much. If your daily route is not mean for you to hit 16km/l then just accept it or change your route. If you still worry about your FC. Take a drive on a very long  HW with not much car during cool temperature at 80km/h non stop, get that MAGIC FC number for your car for once to convinct yourself then you can enjoy your daily drive, be it 10km/l or 9km/l. My best was 16.8km/l (with load), dailly is ~10km/l
