Gear Shift problem

(1/9) > >>

jliow:
Not sure any bros or sis can advise on the scenario

For some reasons, sometimes when parking car, I find shifting the stick from D to P like got something jam or got to push hard

Then from P to D, or even to R, the gear I have to pull back really hard and the shift sound really loud.

AT first I thought my brake padels not steped hard enough but confirm its not causing it, coz same problem when step the brake padel really hard

But these does not happen ALL the time, only occasionally, but getting frequent.

Any one can tell me whats wrong?

My mileage only 15K

Mine also got this "problem". But it happens only when my car is not parked on a flat ground.

rongshu:
I read from other car forums or maybe this forum.

2 steps:
When parking the car, first push to N, apply hand break (foot break for our latio), release break.
Step on break again, and push gear to P.  Then off engine.

This is to ensure no stress for the transmission gears due to uneven surface or slopes.  So when next time start engine, you can shift the gear from P to D more smoothly.

I usually off engine when in N.  Just quickly step on break then push gear to P.
