Gear Shift problem

<< < (3/9) > >>

Ying:
You are right if you want to change car every 2~3 year but a change of small habit can protect the car better for those who want to use the car longer.

hmm... I remember my car did  "reminded" me when I off the engine while my gear is in N. Will try it again later.

jliow:
Just feel if the condition persists, the car cannot last long, not all people are like minded to want to change car that often.

for the first 6 mnths don't have this problem, even have also i realise I did not step brake hard enough. The feel is so bad sometimes I feel the shift stick might break kind of feeling....

Just wanna know if others having latio is having this same issue

Jo_Lee:
for me, if i switch off engine but gear not in "P", the alarm will goes off and I can't even
turn the ignition switch fully to OFF.

arias48:
I've the same problem too, everytime when shift from P -> D, must really pull harder to get the stick down from P to D, even with the break fully pressed.  The feeling is like I'm going to break the gear stick.  ;D  No problem from D -> P.

A workaround will be to engage the foot brake, change the gear to "N", turn off the engine, change to "P" then turn the ignition switch completely to off.

Let us know whether that works =)
