With reference to the above statement, sometimes one needs to take published articles with a pinch of salt, as publications, whether on line or on paper, are all profit driven and they have their bottom line to take care of. Some articles are also "Sponsored" and are actually paid articles.
While it may be possible to feed your car a lower RON petrol than the recommended RON, doing this on a long term basis may ruin and damage your engine.
If "all RON rating does spoil your engine," does that mean Ferrari owners can safely using 92RON for their engines on a long term basis without causing any damages to the engine in the long run? Ferrrai owner manual states a minimum RON of 98 for their engines.
With regards to "...all RON rating does not contribute to FC (fuel consumption) or performance," perhaps forumers may wish to share their personal experiences?
I know that 92RON is definitely safe to use for Latio.
However, I have read about some forumers complaining that 92RON petrol is lacking in power.
Many have also been advised by Tan Chong Motors to pump at least 95RON for their Latio even though the Latio owner manual states a minimum RON of 91 for Latio.

Care to elaborate what are you trying to say in the above highlited in purple ? Don't anyhow copy from web and publish without even know what you want to lay your message.
Again, pls go and read and find out more, what spoil engine are you referring about ? Do you know that engine knocking is very minimal for today cars ?
For those who can afford Ferraris, do you think they will bother to read the manual and pump RON92. :out:
There are articles and I just showed one, you choose not to believe and again ask silly question for forumers experience, you are doubting facts against feeling ? ::)

Hi DarthRevan,
I had a friend who owns a Proton Wira and the min RON is 97.
He tried pumping 95RON and experienced engine knocking.
Try reading up at Vios forum.
Several Vios owners (model before current latest model) experienced engine knocking when they pumped 92RON and the Service Advisor advised them to pump 95RON.
Toyota Vios 1NZFE engine requires min 95RON.

Alex, ::)
To keep the story short, if you have no knowledge of the publishing business, there are times when advertisers pay publications like motoring magazines to write good reviews about their products.
For example, a distributor of a "fuel saving" product may arrange for a motoring magazine's Reviewer's car to be fitted with their "Wonderful" fuel saving device for free.
Of course, the Reviewer, in return, would write an amazing and convicing review of the product, even if it's just another white elephant. And probably just quoting a very minor 'Not-So-Good' aspect of the product, to disguise it from being called a "Paid Review or Advertisement."
