Blue Engine Oil Indicator Light

(1/13) > >>

SC_New:
Hi,

When starting my car (Latio/Sedan/Premium) every morning notice there is one blue engine oil light. The manual says it lights up when engine oil is cold. Usually I idle for a few minutes on 'Park'  for the blue light to go off before putting the car on 'Drive'. Is it necessary to wait?

Jo_Lee:
usually we will wait till the blue light is off b4 we move off...but some of us here will move off slowly with the blue light on and
pick up speed once the blue light is gone.

not so good for the engine in the long run if u keep driving off with a cold engine.

iagree:

Hi SC

Relax.
It is normal. It takes abt 1 to 2min for the Engine to warm up before you start to drive.
But usually, when I see the RPM drop to abt 1200rpm (the blue light still on), I can start to drive liao but drive at SLOW SPEED until the blue light is off.

You only need to be seriously alarm if the same logo comes out in red...it means engine overheat....might explode and catch fire if u dun stop the car and turn off the engine....
