The problem without a temperature gauge is when the red light bulb indicating obverheating, blows without us knowing.

How did u get it overheat? Had never driven a car until it is overheat...cost a lot of $$$ to replace the fanbelt?

nope, the bulk of the $ was on the towing. the fan belt was replaced free by the workshop (Chip Soon @ Tampines Industrial Park) because prior to the shredding, they installed a new fanbelt. but sad to say, that fanbelt either isnt of good quality, or they had tighten too much.

yes, hence such, it may be a good idea to have a gauge or some sensor to display the water temp.

according to my overheating experience, the engine overheat check light comes on when the water temp hits 105 degrees celcius

wah...tat sound dangerous man....hmm....when i first got the car did felt tat some display is missing from the panel...took me a while to realise tat it is the temp guage....
