Off topic but BMW is a car that I will avoid at all costs, as it "Brings More Worries".
I know of some staff from Performance Motors Svc Ctr who have resigned due to headache from angry customers of frequent unsolved electronic related problems unique to this marque.
pizzaboy:
to me i personally feels that its better to warm-up the engine for 1-2 mins before moving off as what i did on my previous ride even after 2 yrs when i sold the vehicle, the new owner commented that my engine & idling is very quiet almost thought that my engine was not started at all... I told him that was because i took extra effort to warm-up every time before moving off..

For me, after starting the engine, I wait for 30 seconds for the oil to circulate, before I shift from 'P' to 'D'.
I drive off immediately thereafter, but with very gentle acceleration, not exceeding 2000rpm.
I turn on the air con only when the "cold engine" blue light has gone off.
There is no correct or wrong rule, just personal preference and belief.
