CVT is regarded as more fuel efficient.

However, ultimately it boils down to your driving style and practice. I can get 18+km/l on a 4AT, liewks can get 22+ on his CVT, but some of us are getting 12+, 14+.

man your FC makes my 4AT looks like a guzzler....I have been achieving the best 11.5km/ltr since day 1....and of late noticed that it has dropped badly to 10.5km/ltr and car is barely 4 months old...true to to a certain extend driving style plays a part but from the first top up when i started to noticed what a drinker i got...i have never revved the car...morning speed has been average of 60km/hr and maintain the rpm to betwn 1500 to 2000 only occasionally hitting to 2500 with speed up to 90km/hr on highway... :crycry: :crycry:

Silver:
have you checked your tyre pressures (cold) lately?

Toalson:
To achieve good FC does not mean having low revs, it is how fast u achieve the crusing speed at the highest gear. AS some pointed that you have to have about 2.5k rpm to be efficient and yet fast enough for gear changes.

SoL:
Yup thats right, medium acceleration is important.

MadMatty, like silver said, check your tires, thats very important. Also, if you stop at traffic lights alot, with start stop acceleration, frequent use of brakes, these will worsen your FC as well.

Jo_Lee:
mine is a 4AT..FC getting better and better...

b4 1k servicing, FC abt 11 to 12km/l
after 1k servicing but b4 5k, FC maintained at 12km/l constantly
after 5k servicing but b4 10k, FC maintained at 13km/l constantly
after 10k servicing, FC improved to 14km and my last tank, i achieved 15km/l  :yehyeh: :yehyeh:
