hi Toalson

ic. gd info. thanks for sharing. then i dun hv to go to HengTyre liao.

every 2weeks need to chk n topup air meh?

Yes, best is to check every fortnightly. I tried and even when on N2 was told to come back to stamford to top up. Then when I tried normal air, it was the same frequency and best of all the kiosk is so much nearer to stamford. And do note not all of them wait for the tyres to cool before topping up thus the tyres would always be under inflate.

Ya. 1.6km how to ? Unless the petrol kiosk is next door of your block. Think most of us pump while it is hot tyres. Then how to compensate ?

Eg less than 1.6km - pump 210 and 230
1.6 km - 10 km - pump ???
10 km - 20 km - pump ???

Tyres are considered COLD after the vehicle has been parked for 3 or more hours (see same page of owner's manual)

Usually, you can compensate by about 10 to 15 kPa extra when pumping "HOT" tyres

Do invest in a quality tyre pressure gauge and you can check the tyre pressures COLD before you drive to the kiosk and check the tyres when they are HOT and then you can see how much to compensate

on a side note, good read :

Hi guys,

I have no time to go to HengTyre @ Kallang there to pump my Nitrogen air for my new GR80 tyres...

Last night, I pump at ESSO fuel stn @ clementi. Those air are not Nitrogen air right?

The front tyres, i pumped 230. The rear tyres, i pumped 210. Follow the common standard, dare not over pump the air pressure. Any comment?

So, now the air in the 4 new GR80 tyres are mixed liao, how ah? Any knowledge need to share with me for this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Yours iagree.

Hi iagree, noticed that the tyre pressure at 270/250 not really that scarely after all (though abit bumpy). I'm on this tyre pressure now after poisoned by some of the bros here. Will monitor the FC + some skills shared by bro fri13th, liewks, toalson,etc..

Recommended tyre prssure for COLD tyres is 200KPa, so for a warmed up tyre, an extra 20KPa in pressure to compensate means one should pump 220KPa.

But in the name of fuel efficiency, I think many forumers are pumping way above the recommended pressure, up to 280KPa.

Speed kills more than tyre pressure, sign board on the road "110km/h", how many people follow leh? you always follow?

driver errors, mechanical failure do
speed (per se) don't kill

even those who were at 0 kph parked by the road shoulder died when vehicles plough into them

like what you said, another car hit a 0 kph car, chances to survive is better if the car was travelling at 30 km/h than 110km/h right? Sure, speeding can consider as driver errors or should i say failure to control the car over speed limit? you can play with words but fact is fact.  :glare: speed don't kill? god bless ;)

failure to control car even at speeds below the speed limit can also result in dire consequences

nice simple slogan to have : speed kills

but the truth of the matter is that it is not as simple as that
