I am due for my 20K servicing after almost 1 year 9 months. I read the servicing checklist, which including rotate my tyres.
So I will like to know if I should change my tyres's rubber too since it is almost 2 years already.
Thanks

Hi tahoo,
I used my stock rims & tyres for abt 30000km before changing the tyres, took abt 1.5yrs before hitting 30k km... My tyres skidded a few times during wet weather, hence change it. :bleh:
Woah, 20k km for 2 years that's quite little distance travelled... ::) Guess you can still use the tyres for another 10k - 15k km before changing... :w00t:

its true that for 1 yr 9 months, and having travelled on 20k km is alittle low usage, but don forget that rubbers have a life span as well. Sometimes its not just abt the threadwear or how far the tires have been used.
imagine this, the tires have been under pressure (33psi) for the past 1 yr 9 months. It has also underwent climate change in tropical singapore climate, Hot days, rainy days, cool nights etc.
For safety purposes, i would suggest changing the tires when it hit 2 yrs. FOr 15" tires, you can easily get a new set under $400. If budget allows, get a new set of shoes better, give u a peace of mind as well. Like my signature in MCF goes, Tires are like parking coupons, tao jiak that little bit, but the damage will be much more if you are suay.
clarence:
If proper rotation has been done, the tyre should be good for at least another 10,000km.
No need to change unless the tyre is damaged or you have lots of spare cash on hand to spend.
