road tax refund

How come you didn't raise this question with your SE at the time of booking your new ride? :confused1:

yes i did.
she told me i have to wait for the the dealer to de-register the car first then wait lta to return t refund to dealer before it will return me the balance (which tk 1 month plus).
however, i alr take my new ride and how to trace whether dealer got de-register anot as the car will be transfer to the dealer name.

This kind of thing cannot be helped lah... which is why it is best to always only update road tax every 6mths... just in case you change your ride.
Luckily for me, I received my new Latio Sports <1wk before road tax of my old car expire, which is perfect.

actually I am quite bewildered and aghast at the attitudes of many who simply resign their fate to the fact that dealers and intermediaries are siphoning your money, paid in full to the gov.
the fact that many treat that few hundreds bucks like too small when these dealers are actually ripping many of us off by a lot higher margin.
Something is very wrong in the system. The gov make it such a convenience for us to pay road tax but so difficult to refund to the owner the taxes not due.
This is such a corrupt system, who knows if LTA pockets the money, the dealers or so many other down the line.
The gov are quick to fix property dealers market, stopping speculative trade, agents fee etc. But look at the motor industry practice, its practically a corrupted system and rampant corruption in operation

sometime things are beyond ur control.
my coe expired in end nov and that was the time coe crash and make the car price so attractive.
if not for the attractive price, i will never thing of changing my ride.
u r pretty luck for ur case.
anyway..will pester my SE to ask her for some compensation :devil2:
