I checks my 1 month old FL latio. This is what we need to do when not using the i-key -
switch off the engine, after driver get out of the car, he just needs to press the central locking switch next to all the window switch controls to centrally lock all the doors, including the trunk. Proceed to close the door and the car is locked. Is very simple and don't even need the key to lock the car. (but please remember to have the key with you)
This is part of the car design, is not a flaw. You can try using the key to lock the driver side door, the trunk will be locked too even thought the rest of the doors are unlocked. If is a flaw, the trunk should not be locked.
Hope this help.
As for leaving the headlight to Auto position will shorten the battery life, does not sound 'logical' to me. When the engine is off, the headlight sensors circuit is cut off of power supply, just like your radio and CD player, so it does not drain off your battery. The only set back is when you turn on the car engine, the headlight will turn on immediately if the environment is dark, together with the air-condition that left on the auto position, this will put additional load on the car engine, especially when the engine is cold.
For a small engine capacity like Latio, I think the best practise should be turn off the aircon before turn off the engine to reduce the surge and load to the cold engine, not so much worry about battery.
