Wide Angle Rearview Mirror with day/night feature
« on: January 01, 2009, 11:04:00 AM »
Dear all,

I am looking for a wide angle one with "day/night" feature. Means with the flip of the lever underneath our stock mirror, at night it will reduce the glare from the headlights of cars from behind.

I am not sure if this "day/night" feature is a special feature because i was at autobacs browsing thru the mirrors and none has indicated that it has such feature. Or is it by default built-in in all mirrors?

Where can i buy them? Thanks!

I bought one when i was installing my stifferner @ autobacs... i bought the one that indicated HID.. so far so good. Don't really need to look away or flip the lever when there are those morons who drive with high beam on.

I had a wide angle rearview mirror with this day/night feature in my previous, previous car. Many years back... and it is broadway brand i think...

For original mirror, I assume Japan engineer had consider safety factor in their design. Original mirror should hold the glass when it broke and no sharp edges. After market mirror? have to check the design before buying.. if you care.

You are right... and i did saw a few that is suppose to hold the glass when it broke. Just that none of them said it has the "night feature"...

Saw 2 types of rear view mirrors, either clear or tinted (but not dual function of switching between day and night).  Available at most car accessories shops and departmental stores and DIY shops.

If i really can't find the dual function one, probably i just get the tinted one to reduce the glare at night. Those that have the word "HID" on it sounds like sales gimmicks, wonder how effective it is
