Nissan Car Lounge - Almera, Juke, Latio, Qashqai, Sylphy, Teana Owners > Latio
What other cars have comparable cabin space as latio?
clarence:
i30 interior is spacious with a 2650mm wheelbase, but way too expensive at $54,000 for a Korean marque.
Its heavy 1,300kg body weight puts it in the same category as the heavyweight Suzuki APV.

the FC is better than avante and pickup comparable to the avante 2.0

Basically, the i30 uses the same chasis, same 1.6L engine and 4-AT gearbox as the Avante, and it is heavier, so that should give you an indication of its pickup and FC. ::) Note that the 2.0L Avante has already been phased out due to lack of demand.
Before buying my Latio hatchback, I did seriously considered the i30 as I like its 'European pedigree' a lot. It is a handsome looking, well built, spacious and comfortable car (based on test drive, ride comfort is comparable with the Latio hatch) but the reason why I went for the Nissan was because the i30 has the disadvantages of being higher priced, lower OMV, lower resale value (my previous ride was a Hyundai so I know), and KMC's aftersales service really puts me off. A real pity, if the local agent is better, I may have gone for it as it is a good car.

Agree completely with your assessment but while it is indeed slightly underpowered and has poor FC (if you read the Hyundai forums, nobody who own the i30 dares to post their FC ;D ), it really is a nice car with a very German interior, you have to test drive one to find out.

Talking about space, you guys have forgotten the once popular pre FL toyota altis. Big legroom and wide, and a huge boot space. Not sure about the FL version. Yes, it is also FC friendly, can get around 14km/l.
clarence:
New Altis not is as economical as the previous model due to its heavy 1255kg body, which is almost 100kg heavier than the Sylphy.
Simple common sense tells you that a 1.6l engine mated to a heavy body at almost 1.3 tonnes is detrimental to fuel economy
The new Altis also uses an outdated 9 yr old VVTi engine first seen in the 9th Generation Year 2000 Corolla. Toyota has launched the new Dual VVTi engine, supposingly more powerful and economical, but its a pity this latest engine is not used in models selling in S'pore.
You will notice that the latest Altis is not selling as well as the previous model. Not as many on the road as when the previous model was launched.

Yup, this is the reason why i decided NOT to buy the Altis when i was shopping for my car... i figured no point paying so much money for an old engine. Which makes the new Altis basically just a facelift...
