Can't help wondering where has the reliability of Jap car gone to. My previous Korean make whack until jialat jialat stil surviving no problem. Latio only 2 years old so many problems. Got it only 3 weeks ago (2nd hand) and found so many problems including the well-known steering coupling problem.

got the car 3 weeks ago but 7k km till next servicing. So you did not send to TCM for checking/servicing right after you got your car?

don't worry. some major parts have longer than 3 years waranty. They just order one steering coupling for me as it is still under warranty even my car is coming to 4 yrs old. Let TCM check your car, dont try outside workshop first coz got problem they also ask you to go back TCM. If the car had accident before then you got it then you should look for the 2nd hand car dealer soon.

Before i bought it at mileage 41,000km, i checked with TCM that the last servicing is 38,000k and it is a major servicing (package C). SO i did not send the car in for servicing right after i got the car.

And this is something new. I thought after 3 years warranty is over, it implies that all parts warranty is over. The steering coupling is a known problem to many, considered as a design flaw that is why TCM is willing to change for you FOC. But in anyway, it is a good news that they willing to change for you even know yr car has passed 3 years!

It is hassle free with NPMP.

btw, spark plug is good for 100k right? so we should get replacement if faulty after 4 years but still under 100k right? So can't say after 3 years, all parts not under warranty.

I dunno if spark pluf is good for 100k. But if the stock spark plug can last 100k, then it is even better than a Denso Iridum i think. But i hope you are right. My take is if u had gone to TCM for servicing more often, you have better bargaining / negotiating power when you need them to change this and check that....

Dear all,

Just a short update. I went down to TCM@BT today at 12pm which is my appointment time. The advisor who attended to me says that usually Sat is more for servicing and attending to faults which are straightforward. Faults which needs diagnosis and test drives has to be on weekdays. And he blames it on the telephone operator who book the appointment for me.

Today is a total waste of time because he asked a technician to testdrive with me,  suppose to identify the faults so that i can bring the car in on a weekday morning for rectification work. But the technician is totally uninterested. And he still needs me to remind him that Latio Sports and Lation Premium sedan has the same CVT gearbox. I said the behaviour of the gearbox should be the same for both Sports & Premium sedan. He told me that it is different, because sports is for different function and CVT gearbox is like that one.

Is TCM customer service so lousy?  :glare:
I have to send in the car again on a weekday and do the testdrive and everything again.
 :(
