iagree:

some said even mileage like 20k, 40k, 60k which are major servicing shd go back TCM for peace of mind
and odd mileage like 30k,50k,70k can go outside like AS to save some moola.

from what I gathered, 20k go AS since it's cheaper by 30%.

hi ninevictor,

iagree w u. in fact, pay upfront is only benefiting TCM as they can use our $ to do something else, e.g. investment or pay for their staff salary....

I serviced my car (40k milesage) at Autosaver just a few days ago. A major servicing. Total cost $207.50 including GST and wiper change (I use my own Amsoil signature series oil)

I also went for the ISC package (Intake System Cleaner) at $98. This package includes 2 x fuel system cleaner and 2 x fuel injector cleaner. The mechanic told me some benefits which I cannot remember other than that it would remove the carbon. I feel the car is more powerful and responsive after ISC. Not sure how long the power will last though.

I have also asked about the 2-yr package by Autosaver. Apparently, items like belt, CVT oil are not included (i.e. not free) unlike that for TCM NPMP. Also must use Autosaver's engine oil (I did not ask abt the brand). My understanding is that brake pads, which are included in the package, are the most costly item (total $200 I think) among the "free" items in NPMP.

I have serviced my car at Autosaver since 20k and so far so good...

I think a big part of decision between TCM NPMP and Autosaver is whether we wish to use our own engine oil. If we use our own oil and wipers, then the total cost of servicing by Autosaver for the 4 servicings (2x10, 1x20, 1x40) only abt $470 incl GST. If do not mind TCM engine oil, then NPMP is ok. Of course another big factor is whether we mind hassle-free like iagree said.

Ying:
for autosave 40k service, did they change the drive belt, fuel system filter and engine air filter?

Thanks for the breakdown. I dont think I will sign up since I have 3 spares EO filter and need 5W-40 EO for my CNGed Latio.

Any idea how much EO filter and EO rebates would they give?

Thanks again

walker:
For my 40k service, sorry i did not take note what was changed but autosaver servicing procedure follows strictly the same according to TCM manual so u can check it out what is included and what is not in a 40k TCM package. But i know belt definitely not changed. so far from 20k to 40k, i dun remember being charged for oil or air filter (based on memory only)

If bring own EO, autosaver will deduct $45 from package price. Not sure abt EO filter. Rebate for wiper not used in 20k, 40k services is I think $15.

My personal experience is EO makes a lot of difference to car performance. that's why i choose to use my own EO and hence choose autosaver.
