pizzaboy, I have to been AS Kaki Bukit for my first servicing in June and AS Defu Lane last Friday.
Kaki Bukit is very small, with only 1 seat for customer. The place doesnt seems to be able to be able to service more than 2 cars indoors though. (Mechanic is patient and friendly though)

The one in Defu Lane is much larger by comparision. Have sofas in aircon office for customers. And workshop is pretty well staffed and the men seems pretty knowledgable. The only complaint i have is that they move too fast. Not like Kaki Bukit's mechanic whom i have chance to bomb him with questions while he worked ;)

Hmm, I think I will do my 60k servicing at Kaki Bukit since its near to my work place. All my other servicing is at TCM but had some unfortunate encounters

If you choose to opt out of the "free" NPMP, Tan Chong will refund you $600 or $800 off the purchase price of your car, the exact figure I cannot recall.

hi clarence

ohh, if so then no diff loh....
sigh

yup. when i bought my latio last dec, my agent ask me if i need the NPMP. She says i can just deduct $800 from the purchase price of the car if i do not need it. She advised me to opt out so that if i need it, i can always purchase later. Mind you, if you opt in, your purchase price will be higher and hence the interest of the bank loan taken will be higher.

So effectively you are paying the installments of the extra 2yr NPMP with interest. So people, the NPMP that comes with it is NOT free!!

say you got the car and want to sign up NPMP, you have to pay $1091 on the spot. Just pay part of that amount ($800) on top of your downpayment and you get $291 saving. hassle free some more.

If you compare autosave package $900+, you still save $100+ right away.
