It was a bit slow at the low end when I first got it last year but that is cvt nature. Then VS and spark VS it, no problem till now. Overtaking on HW is ok too. Having said that, there is no problem for 05 stock cvt. It is very buttery smooth to drive if you have the time.

Sorry guys for a late reply. Was bogged down by work to check.
FYI all the car no power means its a struggle to move...i read about the Taka experience yes...i think mine is like that
My CVT gearbox both changed during warranty. after last change, TCM inform me that warranty will be extended for another year from last change for the gearbox.
I have service with TCM since day one, & have 2 boys one a 3 yr old son & anoter who is one year plus..both are in baby seats...i think my driving style can be described as easy non aggressive.
Changing gearboxes, having kids in the car & maybe trying to keep the car to reduce costs are top of min when i drive...nope no WRX/rally style driving
I need to read the rest of the posts to answer more questions
I am looking forward to a meet up to test the car.
Not to alarm the rest...i think the car is good, obviously my experience with it not great.
Seems some here face the same issues.
Having a community like this helps greatly as when making a point to TCM those lucky to have a normal performing car can be the voice for the est of us.
I paid close to $70K after interest for the car, most of us here pay a lot for the car...if it ain't working to specs the manufacturers should try to fix what is broken...

Your #2 point looks serious. When you say at traffic light cannot move, do you mean the car literally refuse to move when you step on the accelerator, and then you have the step it harder than normal to get the car moving?
>>Power loss...really have to step & rev up...
Your #4 is not quite understandable. When turning, car no power... did u step hard enough?
>>when executing the turn seems the car is the most tartdy when starting from a stop
Your #3 symptoms i seems to be experiencing. I am into about 3 weeks of ownership of a CVT latio. Year 2006 manufactured. Bought it second hand. I read about the CVT gearbox problem for 2005 CVT Latio prior to purchasing, so i bought a end 2006 one, but still i seems to have problem. Really really not sure if there is indeed a problem somewhere or it is how a normal cvt gearbox will perform. If it is the latter then i am really disappointed. Should have bought a 4AT. :(
>>>sorry just feels uneven..sometime no power then power surge engine revs up

do u always 'cheong' heavyfooted?
regards.

No heavy foot...CVT changed during the warranty period. Once changed the warranty for the changed part is extended for 1 year
