try to listen for any abnormal noise. pinging do not usually happen during idling, and it's start occur when you start throttling. it is usually more obvious when your full throttle aka floor the pedal.
if confirm is pinging, better send car back and bang table.

Yup...forgot to highlight, when pick up the car manage to go around the block with a TCM tester. He acknowledge posibility of the engine ignition timing too advance but advised to monitor with using high grade fuel. Any advise in pushing them to change whatever the electronic gadgetry to eliminate the annoying 'growling'?....dun want to resort banging table tho...many thanks!

using higher petrol grade should not even come before retarding the ignition timing. pls ask him to get his fact right. let me put it this way. under normal working condition, the engine should not ping, when if you use ron 92 (which is manufacturer's recommendation). if you did not do anything which resulted in the engine not working within it's spec, and it starts to ping, then they(TCM) should do something abt it and not ask you to find your own solution.
is this the kind of after sale TCM expect their customers to receive?
