Any good advise when leave car idle for a week?
Goontat:
Hi All
Will be having long break for the CNY. Have planned for hoilday, question: if leave car for a week any issue to look into as precaution;
Aside from safety (preventing car theft and break -ins) is there any other advise on car mechanism one have to consider or do a check list e.g. read somewhere, to put off mode for auto headlights so it won't drain the battery. Are there any further pointers out there from good citizens of Latio Nation.
Thanks ;D

I went for 7 days holiday,... this is what i did..
1). parked near where there's some human traffic in mcp. dont park at remote corner.
2). ensure all headlights switches at off position.
3). fold up the 2 side mirrors
lastly, check all your Doors + petrol tank cap are properly shut & LOCKED !!!
( also check that cabin light(s) are OFF ).
cheers & happy holidays. ( do i missed out anything ?? )

No problem, just left my car alone last month for 2 weeks, battery was a little weak when I got back but it's running normal now, just the initial crank.

I thought removing the -ve terminal cable to the battery can stop the battery from discharging. But not sure it will lead to ECU reset, lose yr programmed and stored radio stations etc.
