Anyway to prevent scuff plate scratches?
« on: January 23, 2009, 11:28:05 PM »
Dear all,

Seeking advices and opinions on how to protect the scuff plate area from scratches. I have no problem with adults getting in and out of the car. But for kids they need to, and will usually step on the scuff plate first before getting in and causing scratches to the scuff plates as well as the paintwork around it.

I thought of putting 3M scotchgard on it, is it effective? Or is there any other tips?

Thanks.

Though that the scuff plate if to protect the door edge / ledge from getting scratches ? It is suppose to get scratches esp from the work of children. Nevermind lah, just like the paintwork of our car consistently getting chips and scratches from stones and flying objectives.

Ya.. the scuff plate is suppose to take the hits from shoes and heels. I guess i am too particular already.   the scratches could really be an eyesore.

How much in a scuff plate? If it kanna too many scratches i may just change it. Could be cheaper than using 3M scotchgard.
