isit bad for engine if your car is not moving with engine on?

alternator not running when the engine started but car stationary?

To the best of my knowledge, once the engine is running, the alternator should be operating as well, irregardless whether the car is stationary or moving.
You may wish to send your Latio for a check up if your alternator is not operating when your car is stationary. I believe the alternator is covered under warranty.

Sorry my bad, was replying when thinking engine is not cranked. To further explain, alternator is running when engine is cranked but if the car is stationary, assuming TS on radio and AC while waiting for his GF, the supply current drawn is overload than the alternator able to supply because if the acceleration is not depressed, but will compensate by a voltage regulator, the voltage regulator operates by modulating the small field current in order to produce a constant voltage at the stator output, it also regulates the alternator's output voltage by varying the amount of current in the stationary exciter field coils. So if the alternator need to supply more current to the battery, it will indirectly generate more heat which the engine bay is already heated up, thus the lifespan of the alternator will be shorten in the long run which directly affect the battery life as well.
In summary, your alternator and battery will be prone to shorter lifespan rather than your engine if the car is operating in stationary mode.

wow..seem so technical.
but really thanks alot for the replies from everyone.
think next time i better off my engine or just open the window instead.
Ender:
Do this for long period, makes your servicing based on mileage inaccurate. That's just my opinion.
