Always connect positive + to positive + and negative - to body ground. NOT to the battery's negative.
This is something new to me as from all my previous jump start i always connect positive to positive and negative to negative. Maybe i'm doing it wrong all this while.

Dear alghojo,
Connect one of the -ve terminal of yr jumper cable to ground, which could be any unpainted nuts u see around the engine bay. Usually i clip it to the nuts of the shock absorber which is by the side of the engine bay. So that both cars are connected via a 'common' ground.

Hi bro Silver, is this only apply to latio or general for jump start? Believed the cab driver has helped me once with +ve to +ve and -ve to -ve on my previous drive (16.5yrs of corolla, 1.6M). Thanks to advise
