Probably by how much petrol they give you/ how much you use.

Yep, that why this puzzle me, since the distance is so called fixed, to and fro around 500km as stated, let say they provide us to pump to the full tank since we need to abide the 3/4 tank regulation also. So after end of the journey, how do they or use any equipment to measure the quantity of our fuel left to determine the winner, we know we can estimate from our fuel gauge but not accurate in term of how many litres left in our tank.
