Be aware of Aircon compressor noise

It's still cold so I never suspect the aircon compressor at 1st. One way to check is open your bonnet and hear. The sound is coming from the alternator side area.

Can describe Where is the alternator area? I not very good at all this. For me i hear a 'buzzing' sound while i'm standing outside at the bonnet area (bonnet still closed), dunno whether is coming from aircon compressor. I got another Latio to park side by side and i dun hear any of such sound...

Just wonder how is the humming sound like? Can the humming sound be heard in the cabin? Or how do you tell the a/c compressor is failing? For my ride, I do hear many sounds everyday, especially after a long drive. Sometime eee eee eee sound, sometime other sounds.... Don't know it normal or not? Can advise me?

yes the sound can be heard from inside the cabin even if aircon not on...it is a consistent sound....but aircon is still working fine.....so i have not changed it yet....but will be doing so during my next service in maybe 1 mth time....

the alternator is just beside the engine oil dipstick...and the aircon compressor is below the alternator...usually way of checking is to use a long metal rod and press it on either the alternator or compressor to hear where the noise come from.....
Everince:
Better to have it check by TCM before warranty end..preferable during the last few month b4 3 years. I had my check and TCM change my entire air con system FOC...cooling coil, a/c compressor... etc...

Yes tat y i advise owners to send in to TCM once they detect any humming noise.....my warranty is already over....so no choice but to pay from own pocket.....
Seems like this is a inherent problem in Latios....
