Agreed from the physics point of view....

The car is optimized for 185/65 R15. If the size changes to 195, then there are more contact on the road, hence more friction.. so it needs more engine power to overcome friction. hence higher FC.

But some people will not experience higher FC .. because measuring FC is not so exact, as u do measure the amount of petrol used by the amount of petrol pumped in.. there are a lot of assumptions made... and the driving style and climate and rain and sun, and the moon and the wind all adds up or subtract the FC. Hence there are claims that there are no change in FC.

Moreover, the change is may not be drastic enough to be noticed, but it will certainly adds up.
Also, a lot of people changed their tyres to 195 without them knowing cos when they go to the shop they just change tyres..by the people there...  without knowing the differences... nor the impact....

$75 was a year ago price.... but please check the profile of your $98 tyre... maybe bigger- so more rubber so more $$
