VCool to replace existing Ultramax?

Hi folks,

I usually park in open space car park, so heat is a huge issue.

Contemplating the install VCool X75 on the windscreen and V-Kool 70 on the 2 front side window to replace the existing Ultramax film provided on stock. Not looking to replace the back ultramax film since they are quite dark and VCool doesn't provide guarantee on the heat demistifier

So, couple of doubts

1. Any brothers know what is the grade of Ultramax that is thrown in free by nissan?

2. Is it worthwhile to replace with VCool?

Hi,

I just change to Vcool X75 for windscreen as i get the heat problem when parking under Sun.

Seems like UltraMax is about 45% IRR where as Vcool X75 is about 77% IRR, there is a promo now which will cost you $200 for the windscreen  only.

Not much different for back windows.

Now waiting for new film to dry in a week or 2, was advice to park in the sun till then.

Will let you know soon when i can compare to heat rejection over the weekend.

Vcool does check on the light transmission before and after changing to Vcool is about 69% which is borderline case for LTA requirement of 70%.

Thanks for the feedback. I took the leap today to change the front windscreen too.

But bad luck. While VCool was cleaning the windscreen, some water got into the electrical components and shorted it. Sent to Nissan and they said it's not the first time such case happen. Had to leave the car there for 2 days for drying of circuits and reset of settings is required.

Sian... major inconvenience for a small solar film change... =(

did u change the 2 front window also? how much does they quote you?
also thinking of changing my windscreen with the promote X75 plus 2 front windows or maybe the whole car?

my car is back from hospital.

I only did the windscreen.

for the 2 front side window, I didn't feel it was worthwhile if it's the normal VCool grade so i asked for the price of X75 on side window too. It's $320 for 2 panels and they will throw in some discount. However, it's still quite ex.
