mazha:
I will most probably go for Shell cuz my company got corporate card. Gives us 15% discount. Not bad leh.

clarence:
Shell has this new Fuelsave fuel which it claims can help motorists save UP TO 1 litre for every full 50 litres tank of petrol.
"UP TO" means the maximum it can save is 1 litre.
So it may save you 200ml, 400ml, or just 100ml of petrol.

--- Quote from: mazha on October 11, 2009, 08:06:12 PM ---Hi all, I really need help here. I just bought a Nov 2005 Latio 1.5A. Questions:
1. I pumped full tank SPC 95 but could only do 380+km! Thats very little right?
2. Whats the fuel tank capacity?
3. Is it true that other brands of fuel will help with fuel efficiency?
Thanks!

Might be useful if you provide more info:
1. How many years have you been driving?
2. What is your travelling pattern? Eg. 70% highway 30% city?
3. How many liters of petrol did you fill when you said you travelled 380km?
Do you fill petrol yourself or let petrol station uncle do it?
How many tanks did you monitor?
4. What is your driving style?
Eg. always redline on pickup? 120kmh or 80kmh on expressway? Etc
5. Typical carrying load? Eg. always in the car alone, always with 5 adults on board? Etc
6. Do you have a habit of waiting in the car?
Eg. need to pick up GF/wife and have to wait in the car with engine/aircon on?
Lorddraco:
Note that the most important factor in your FC is as follow (I also driving an 2005 model Latio Hatch CVT)
1. Road Condition - if you drive mainly on Highway without slow Traffic (>80%) (i.e. non peak hours) the FC will be very good at around 12 to 13 + km/lr. But if you are always driving in condition where there is lots of traffic light (start-stopped) or slow traffic (< 60km/h), the FC will not be very good ... at most 11 to 12km/l
2. Foot pressure ... this definitely determine the most. If I am light footed ... I will be at 12+ to near 13 (never reach 14 before as my light could still means heavier to other folks).... but most of the time... impatient driver like me are getting near 10 to max 11.
3. Weather condition - Hot weather I found will consume more fuel... so if you mainly driving in the middle of the day or hot sunny day .. it just consume more due to air-flow, air-conditioning and etc.
So far ... Latio FC can varies from as low as 9km/l to as high as 14km/l ++ as per recorded from our member in the forum.
Thanks
mazha:
Been driving for about a year. Very light footed. 40%highway - 60% city. Latest fuel top up: 38.5L after travelling 420km. So its about 10.9km. Still topped up SPC 95. Will continue to monitor one more tank and then see how its improving.
