Recall Campaign - Inspection of Steering Shaft

(1/7) > >>

topodium:
I received a letter stating that my ride is affected by this recall campaign to inspect the Steering Pinion Shaft to ensure it is properly secured and tighten to factory recommended torque and specification.

Intend to undergo this inspection come my 30k servicing next month.

Just have a few questions in mind:

1. What is the safety impact for improper position and torque to the Steering Pinion Shaft?

2. I already own this car for more than 2 years. If there is a safety impact, then what compensation can the affected drivers seek for this quality deficiency?

LaChio:
Since you are putting up this post, I assume that so far nothing has happened. However, if something happened due to that deficiency from now until your car is inspected, they can refute your claim for compensation because they had already notified you in writing to send your car for inspection but you chose to wait until next month.

topodium:
yup so far so good. Seems like I am the only affected car in the whole forum.

Zippy:
Me also kanna. Going in on Monday morning for inspection...
