Mulfunction light
« on: November 11, 2009, 09:13:21 AM »
Hi,

I notice that when i start the car, a blue light (forgot what it's called) and a yellow light (think it's called malfunction light) will light up, then goes off after a while.

But this morning, the yellow light didn't go off even after i drove out of my carpark and the car seems to have no power :scared:
After i restart the car again the second time, it's back to normal.

Anyone encountered such a problem before?

Not on the latio  but happened to my other car before. Think it's aka the CEL (Check Engine Light). My last ride, had to take out the fuze to reset my ECU before the light goes off, Electronics, somethimes it happens, just like your computer's blue screen. If it's one off, think it should be fine.

What is the icon of the light that came on?

I had the followings experience previously:
1. While driving in JB, the engine warning light came on. So I quickly parked one side, switched off engine and let it cool down. After 15 mins, restarted engine and the warning light didn't come on anymore but felt that engine had lost power. Sent car to TC the next day and they changed the throttle chamber FOC under warranty.

2. When I started the engine, the airbag light would come and went off after a while. Sent car to TC for check and they said nothing wrong with airbag. 2 weeks later, my car battery died. About 1.5 years later, same thing happened. That time I know liao, sent car to battery shop for check and they found that the car battery only had 9 volts. After changing new battery, problem gone.
