at least it serves a purpose of irritating u, so that you remember to turn it off after u change lane.

Thats why latio drivers dun leave their signal lights on. lol

It hope the sound will make the driver complete the turning as soon as possible. I alway see people leaving a gap big enough to park a QQ while waiting to turn at junction. Also taking their own sweet time to make the turn.

I find the sound quite annoying actually. So, I usually don't turn it on when I am on the lane that shows "right turn" arrow on the road, or "left turn" for that matter.

Now, I wonder if it is ok to do that? Have I infringed any driving regulation?

If the lane is a dedicated lane for turning left or right, then no need use signal lo.
Unless that lane can turn or go straight, then u need to use the signal light to tell other road user of your intention.

Thanks. I observer many drivers still signal when they are on strictly-right-turn, or strictly-left-turn lanes though.

coz some of us practice signalling ahead before we enter the strictly turn right lane. and you should too.

I do (sometimes I don't when I notice there are no cars behind me) but I will switch it off when I am on the lane waiting for traffic light to turn green.

I think the sound is pleasing to me. Not that irritating after all. Better than taxi type of sound tho. heh. =)
