Title: Air Con vent got "hissing" sound..

recently when driving, can hear "hissing" sound from Air Con vent when blowing..  :confused1:..on off type...
is this the sign air con need top up?

no dun think so....how old is ur car? sounds more like a/c compressor going to up lorry....

if still under warranty, go back TCM soon.....

you can try topping up a/c gas, if not .... probably get your compressor checked.

Shd b ur evaporater assembly ie ur aircon coil.. :)

I thought it is the aircon gas releasing?

i would say is the compressor as well...cos mine last time also like this so got it change at TCM ...

But the aircon gas releasing also hissing sound. How do we know it is normal.

My warranty over le. Just only. ...

hi. don't mind i hijack the thread.

06 latio sport premium.

recently when driving, can hear a fluttering like sound coming from the aircon.
sometimes have sometimes gone. than the aircon feels like get choked

at times when i turn up the wind speed to max it will suddenly like kana purged.

anybody has an inkling where the problem might lie?

anyway new to the forum, been lurking around for sometime learning from the various topics, first time posting. thanks alot.

I got this hising sound oso in my car 2mths ago.
After a while, the air con was not cool anymore as all the gas leaked out.
TC says the cooling coil leaked.
To repair it will cost ard $1K if your car is out of warranty.

If your car is just out of warrant, try to appeal and they might replace out of goodwill gesture  ;D

Mine hissing go away when i press the aircon button to stop the compressor.
