Title: Wind noie in the car
Post by: lmhdex on January 31, 2010, 10:37:44 AM
Hi

Got my ride for 2 months now.  Initially was quiet but recently heard wind noise coming in.  1000km servicing just done couple of weeks ago.

Checked all windows closed properly.....what gives?

By the way, my back passenger seats are not secured tightly to the base, it's rather loose when I gently tug it at the side, is this normal?

the SAs from Tan Chong advised me against putting on the visor as it wll make noise as the car cruises along the road.

it is definitely not the noise from the tyres.

I'm getting to think that it is due to the small rectangular object along the window (which the SA told me is for breaking windflow) cutting head wind, generating the noise

yes , fully agreed...tat the problem mayb the visor..

when i 1st collect car, i drove the car to ubi... enjoy it very much

but when i installed the visor (since i requested FOC from my SA), i heard the wind noise too

anyway pros and cons... backside itchy to install the visor..hahaha :yehyeh:

Mine got visor from day one.  Didn't hear the noise only after 2 months.

So don't think it's due to visor.

My ride also has the wind noise when moving at more than 80km/h along curving road.  I think it is a mix of speed and head wind that cause the noise.

That did not bother me too much ... just turn up the audio system volume  ::)

bo pian wan if u like ur car 2 look nice then gotta bear wif e cons... juz like some of us dun like 2 see e big gap on e wheel arch so they change coilovers but end up wif lots of scratches on bodykit & all tose under chasiss bars.

Hi,

I think its the side mirrors design and gap between the side windows which generate Wind noise above a certain speed.
Wondering if its also due to the small glass window infront of front door.

Its louder when you are speeding about NSH speed limit, but normally the engine noise above 3000rpm will be louder than wind noise.
