Post by: byrion on February 25, 2010, 11:01:10 AM
I was surfing the msia latio forum and came across a thread selling new design armrest that comes in black and beige colour. Each cost about RM 220.. Can anyone advise if it's wise to get it?

Thank you in advance

stock arrives only in march and best of all after convert it cost S$100 nia compared to the cheong wan sellin here for 8O bucks, worst is the height is way toooo low need to slant ur body in order to rest ur arm on it.

Haiz i juz use it as an extra storage & to cover the gap btw the two frt seats.

Best is to wait for the stock arrived & some others have installed. Get their reviews & comments, the picture shown doesn't seem to fixed on a latio. moreover MY latio using handbrake, while our are footbrake, they might be some different in fitment.

Hi TS thanks for raising this thread! I am also looking out to install armrest but please correct me if I am wrong that installation process  of this armest requires the removal of the center piece console and both the cup holders will be replaced by this armrest. Can any kind bros out there confirm this?

I am quite certain this cannot be a 'plug-and-play-DIY' job

Why dont we start a MO and if got the quantity, we can all meet up and let him install in sg since he is transporting over the stocks.

According to the MY latio should be plug n play require no drilling or srewing.

ya.. i also think so installing the armrest should not be a plug and play thing since we have a console in the middle..but he insisted that its easy to install.. i have told him to bring a set out to sg for me... once i receive from him will update you guys again....

I got the original armrest from TCM's SA (she got this source from OEM), cost $350 and $20 installation. Is not really plug & play for my case as you can see from the picture that you need to dismantle the whole center console.

This is the original armrest, my previous photo shows that you have to dismantle that piece of center console in order to fit in this.

The installation requires and involves
-the removal of the cigeratte butt holder with two side screws (at the back & bolts can been seen and need to remove it),
-exchange of the cupholder (there is a wire connected to the cupholder) with the armrest.
-Also requires the removal temporary of the gear top panel and the cigeratte charger top panel.
-The arm rest, need to open up 3 covers (front & sides) carefully as the clips are easily broken.

Overall, the side panel were not removed.

Install Latio arm rest last year Sep'09 in Ubi workshop near to TP cost $350. iIt's the original Latio arm-rest and the existing centre console has to be removed.

Recently, pass by the workshop and was told still bringing in the original arm-rest. Believe TC SE also go to him for installation as part of the freebies.

May I ask for the name/address of this workshop? I am interested in installing the armrest for my Latio.

Thanks!
