Went for my 10K servicing at TCM and paid for the Fastflo oil. Can feel the revving a little rough. Previous 1K and 5K was on mineral oil. After my 5K servicing, drove to KL and manage to get 16+km/L but after the 10K servicing only can get 15km/L.
Read so much abt the amsoil and was thinking of changing to it. Which amsoil oil would be good to change, 5W30, 0W30? Ride is sport 4AT.
-
Got more budget, get 0w30
Less budget, get 5w30
If too much budget, give some to me ;D
-
5w30 and 0w30 is the same for us in SG.

Bro i have been all along using 5W30 amsoil from 10k servicing onwards i must say this is a good and value for money engine oil but recently i got to know of this website call motor oil evaluator and i got to find out that their 10W30 oil score higher than 5w30 and signature series 0W30!!! its a surprise to me and i thought signature series should be the best right? Wrong! it score the lowest points over comparing the 3 oils! 10W30 will be my next oil change  nontheless Amsoil is a leader in almost all category base on that website beating all other major brands like mobil 1 in almost every category!

I went to an ESSO petrol kiosk at Lavender to have my EO and engine oil changed.
I bring my own AMSOIL EO to change, they charge me 25 dollars for the labour as well as an oil filter.
Anyone got cheaper lobang? :yehyeh:

No need to change filter as it still new, why not wait till 5000km then change to Amsoil ?

hi sorry to hijack this old thread... just wanted to check any bros out there who have used both amsoil engine oil and castrol edge before. Any bro kind enough to share experience and comments?
looks like on the "bob the oil guy" webbie, they only have castrol syntec for comparison but not the malaysia refined castrol edge.
-
I actually used amsoil 5w30 and flush only at 9 months after 8k mileage. Even at its 9th month, this amsoil oil i still super smooth.
I like this oil and has just renewed with amsoil 5w30 again... wonderful to me smooth ride cold or hot

I used castro 5w40 and amsoil 5w30 before, engine seems to be a little more noisy when using castrol but the performance remained constant throughout 10k. For amsoil, engine seems to be a little quieter and pickup is better but the performance seems to drop after 7~8k usage

I agree with you marchim..i had the similar sentiment with you. I am now looking for some other eo now which is as good as amsoil for my coming 80k svcing..anyone got idea?
-
Have you tried Ultraman engine oil? I used Amsoil from 10k to 50k and Ultraman from 60k to 120k now.
In terms of performance, i feel ultraman is better with FC remains constant. Engine oil still look very clean after 10k according to the autosaver mechnic.

You can try Torco Engine Oil.
I am using it now. The interesting part about this EO is when the engine is getting hotter, the smoother you drive. It does protect your engine and last longer as well.

one of the function of EO is to clean your engine. If the EO is still clean after 10k, does it clean your engine better than your previos EO?
-
well..i believed so since using from 60k till now. With the current mileage at 123k and 4 yrs old, the engine is still very quiet
and serving its purpose well. MY next call will be trying out astroboy when i had reviews from a fellow bro here.

It does. It might work 100% on the performance since the engine is still clean.

i've been on amsoil 0w30 & 5w30 from 1O - 4Ok personally i feel that fc is not consistent & very irregular up & dwn... after travellin for abt 7k i feel the oil makes the engine abit sluggish too.
5Ok i tried FK massimo Ow2O eo its rather thin but as i dun loot my engine frequently so its still ok. FC wise very gd & maintained thru out the entire 1Ok of travellin.
6Ok i switched to KIC 5w3O so far so gd engine is still as smooth & quiet as before and i managed to obtained the best fc among all the brands i've tried.
