Any bro installed before from tcm? Is it good?

I installed one from TCM.
The good thing about security alarm is that you will be able to locate your car if you happen to forget where you parked it.
Just one thing which i dont like is, the alarm was attached to your car horn, so the sound of the alarm is actually your car horn which is very noisy and irrirtating. Also the recevier was embedded onto your remote control, so you need to press the "on" or "off" button a few times (forget which button to press) to activate the alarm.
I used to drive Nissan Sunny and i love its alarm. The sound was machiam like "police" siren and there is additional button specially for alarm.
pros and cons lah....

What i need is actually the car will auto lock when i get outand leave my car at destination but forgot to lock.... :-p

huhh ?
the alarm will be attached to the car horn?
wow... my horn already changed to electric horn since day one....
by the way, how much is the installation in total? i was told by SE that total is about S$172 include GST...
-
electric horn? ermmm... i am not sure what type of horn you are referring.. haha...
wat i mean is... WHen you press the unlock button, the horn will sound twice "zek zek", when u press the lock button, the horn will sound once "zek" haha..
i paid around $158 from TCM about 1 1/2 year ago.

hi guys
just to share my experience - what tcm carries is actually a simple alarm and i had it installed sometime in Dec09. Cost about low-end of S$100, so i reckon it shoudn't be too far off now.
According to SE, the alarm is hooked up to the car horn. So, the car horn will go off if it detects a break-in and stuff. I didn't have to change another I-key and I wasn't given another I-key, but it rendered my spare key useless. So if you have the car alarm installed and use the sparekey to physically slot into keyhole, the whole alarm system will be activated.
It comes with what most people call "auto-lock" - so basically, you start engine and then you step on the brake pedal to activate the auto-lock. It's good to prevent some cheeky bas**** from opening your boot from outside whilst you're in your car.
SE also said that most of the stock cars that drove out of the TCM showroom are only equipped with an immobiliser and not an alarm system. Well, this statement would vary because different bros probably got different bargains from their sales engineers at point of sale so maybe yours came with it.
small price to pay for ease of mind in my opinion!

there is a manual over-ride button for the alarm if you have to open the door with the spare key
-
sad to say.... my SE does not sell the car with the alarm...
anyway like wat u said just a piece of mind, install it
haha

Yup one of the additional item that came along is the override button which tcm will install but its quite paiseh cos the horn alarm blares like crazy in the mscp lol ppl think I steal car lol!

now the price of alarm cost $161 ... :scared:
